The Aspiring Professionals Programme
This programme offers; mentoring, skills sessions, university application support and work experience. This is suitable for students who have an interest in; Accountancy, Architecture, Banking & Finance, Biology & Chemistry, Business, Engineering & Physics, Law, Media & Communications, Medicine, Politics, Technology and an option for those who aren’t sure.The eligibility criteria for our school is: FSM & 5 A/B at National 5 and/or Eligible for FSM at some point in high school. S5 and S6 - would all aspiring dentists and doctors please see Mrs Pearson. There is the possibility of a 3 days placement with METC. 

DYW Opportunity – Routes into Construction Management, Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying.
Alisdair McTavish from South Lanarkshire College Construction faculty will be visiting on Monday the 15th of January at 11am. He will be discussing HNC pathway routes in Construction Management, Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying. He would like to meet with S4, 5 and 6 pupils who may have an interest in the areas of Quantity surveying, engineering and Site Management. The aim of the presentation is to advise on the courses that South Lanarkshire College can offer pupils and school leavers in these areas and to promote the University routes available on completion of an HNC/D.

National Healthcare Weekend
200 healthcare professionals from across Scotland will be volunteering to present and network with your students who are interested in:
Medicine     Veterinary Medicine    Nursing & Midwifery      Dentistry      Pharmacy        Biomedical Sciences       Psychology
at National Healthcare Weekend on the 4th and 5th November taking place at the University of Stirling: 7 conferences on different specialties in the same location on the same day!
Please note that these events are likely to fill up quickly!
It is a highly valuable opportunity for your students to network with a variety of healthcare professions, learn about work experience opportunities and how to make a successful application.
Registration is £25 for students on the Saturday conferences and there is an optional UCAS lecture available on Sunday for each specialty.

All proceeds from the weekend will be used to support our UK's healthcare students with scholarships, elective bursaries, free training and educational initiatives.
